Alumina Doors

Alumina is the result of combining the insulative properties of uPVC with the strong, sleek beauty of aluminium frames. This product is the first thermally efficient aluminium bi-fold to match a uPVC system in thermal performance. They are the ground-breaking choice for your home, especially if you desire their aesthetic and sculptured lines, but also want low U-values, high-security and extra strength.

The appearance of the door is clearly aluminium, but the colours and foils are designed to match well with uPVC doors and windows. You can request an optional warm touch foiled exterior, as well as a wide range of foil colours, including woodgrain, to ensure the appearance matches your existing windows and doors. All Alumina doors come with a 10-year guarantee, so you can relax and enjoy them long after their installation.

Key benefits of the Alumina Bi-Folding Door

  • Multiple bi-directional locking points
  • Combined lock and thermal insert, meaning low U-values and thermal efficiency
  • Can be double glazed (1.5 U-value) or triple glazed (1.2 U-value)
  • Features the exact same profile as the Liniar uPVC doors
  • Easy open and close along a stainless-steel track
  • All Alumina doors are ‘bottom rolling’ so no extra stresses are put on the lintel
  • Secured by Design (SBD) status
  • Can span openings up to 6.5m wide, with window panes up to 2.5m high

Why Alumina?

As well as the standard combined lock and thermal insert, these doors feature a high strength engineering polymer lock body, which operates as a thermal break, enhancing the thermal performance of Alumina way beyond that of other aluminium doors. With 28mm double glazing and 36mm or 40mm triple glazed options, these doors offer “true” U-values as low as 1.2 m²K.

Colours and foils

Alumina doors are supplied as standard in these colours: plain white, black or grey powder coated finished. However, you can also order Alumina in a mill finish, allowing a vast range of personal colour options. Finally, the doors can be foiled to match uPVC windows, especially those from the PlatinumNRG range, using Liniar’s precision factory-fitted foils.
